"M" is for Maine Heritage Timber

Maine Heritage Timber
recovering a forgotten forest

Every so often I'll hear about a company that's so simple to the core you just want to wrap your arms around and hold on to forever.

This is one of them and if I lived anywhere near Millinocket, Maine I'd be building all my furniture pieces from Maine Heritage Timber boards.

"B" is for Book Themed Birthday Party

A book themed birthday party:

We have a Grandpa who loves books and loves to read so I decided for this big birthday to make it book themed.

I used navy and white gingham fabric as a table runner and kept with the navy, white and brown kraft paper color scheme throughout.

The birthday banner was made from old paperback book pages made into rosettes
(see the full tutorial here):

"P" is for Projects in Progress

Build, paint and sew.
A round up of projects, some completed, some in progress, because I'm Instagram deficient!

New teacher plaques for a new school year (see the full tutorial here).
Some changes and additions at school, thankfully my kids FINALLY go back on Monday!:

Hello new Master Bedroom side tables:

A very nice friend gave me this pair of dressers.
Yes they need work, the side trim is missing, a few chips in the veneer, BUT they are so perfect for our new bedroom.

And even better they are probably from the 1850's guessing by this tag someone smartly placed inside the drawer:

A set of burp cloths for new baby Ruby (full tutorial here):

Mail delivery - package from Maine Heritage Timber:
Who doesn't love a personal cutting board for cheese (and wine)?

Progress in the family room - the windows have been painted semi gloss white:

We still have a ton of red paneling to paint and I'm giving myself a one week deadline.

In the furniture shop - a new build - modern toy box with top, plans coming soon:
(A DIY version of this Land of Nod toy box.)

And another paint makeover, this baby crib went from white to Benjamin Moore polo blue:

And that's just a little bit of what I've been up to lately.
Sorry Instagram lovers, I can't keep up with all the social media outlets!
