One Board Challenge: Bench

diy simple bench from one board

It's a great day to share a ton of one board challenge projects!  My buildy friend Jen at House of Wood organized this Build It Blog Hop challenge whereby DIY bloggers take one board and build anything.  No rules except it can only be a 1x8x8 board.

Below is my one board challenge project including the plans to build your own!

I made a simple bench perfect for our kids bath which has zero counter space.

A place to put your ditty bag, hairbrush, anything really.  Or you could sit on it too!

Below are the step by step instructions including materials and cut lists:

Sand well.  I painted this bench Rustoleum Chalked ultra matte paint in serenity blue, two coats.  Then distressed the edges slightly and sealed with clear wax.

This little bench is simple to make yet so useful and only takes one board to build.
